10. Thomas Was Alone

Platform: iOS
Price: $6

An indie title can go one of two ways; either it can become a hit that resonates with gamers or fade into obscurity never to be remembered. Fortunately for the gaming community, Thomas Was Alone is based in the former camp. With its extremely simple design aesthetic, the player controls the titular Thomas, a rectangle that along with his friends try to understand their existence in the strange world they find themselves inhabiting. The controls, like the graphics, are extremely simple with just moving left, right, and jump as the commands make for very intriguing puzzle platformer to engage with. The multiple characters offer their own unique stories, while the game’s high replay value makes it a hard game to put down.
