Blizzard’s newest addition to the Warcraft franchise turns out to be its most impressive. Hearthstone is a collectible, battle card game where one-on-one fights take place in differing modes. Like other games in its category, players start with a large collection of Basic cards, but through battles and micro-purchases they can obtain rare and more powerful ones to destroy or ‘Disenchant’ cards– creating an in-game material called ‘Arcane dust’ that generates even more cards. It obviously appeals to fans of the original MMO, card battlers, and simple gamers needing an extra challenge on the go.
