So everyone is yearning for some confirmation or details on the Dark Knight sequel AKA Batman 3 and Comic Book Movie has just received a “plot outliner” at Warner Bros., which spills some intriguing details on the follow-up. According to an insider named “TT,” the prime villain for the third Batman film will be…you guessed it…The Riddler. Also, Bruce Wayne’s cryptogramic nemesis will apparently discover the Caped Crusader’s identity. But that’s just a slice of the cake…
“TT” goes on to mention that numerous cameos will follow, with classic enemies the Penguin and Dr. Victor Fries AKA Mr. Freeze, making their rounds in the Gotham Universe. Other cameos could possibly include Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, Barbara Gordon, and the ever so popular boy wonder Dick Grayson, who is unlikely to don the Robin custom. Cameos will always appease fanboys, but this next tidbit might have them wetting their bed sheets. The insider also indicates that Commissioner Gordon mentions another familiar territory, along with another popular figure in the DC Universe: The City of Metropolis and Lex Luthor.
The storyline will supposedly place heavy emphasis on Arkham Asylum, which seems obvious considering the critical acclaim and success of the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game. If these rumors are correct, then Warner Bros. is pulling everything out of the Riddler’s hat to make this film bigger than the Dark Knight. And it could rightfully dethrone it as the greatest comic book movie of all-time.
