It’s the giving season. While we prepare to give thanks with friends and family, Apple is preparing to give back to those who need it most, with Apps for (RED).

Apple has been a long-time supporter of the effort to fight AIDS in Africa, starting with the 2006 special-edition (RED) iPod Nano. Since then, the company has helped fund life-saving treatments through an assortment of (RED) products.

This year, Apple’s campaign has moved to the app store – for the next two weeks, the company will offer 25 limited-edition apps, with a portion of each purchase headed straight to the Global Fund. In addition, a portion of all sales that occur on Black Friday and Cyber Monday (November 28th and December 1st, respectively) will also be donated.

Some (RED) apps include: Angry Birds, with new (RED) feathers; Clash of Clans, offering an exclusive (RED) badge of honor; Despicable Me, featuring a (RED) lifeguard minion; and Paper by FiftyThree, which provides a new (RED) pack with sketch and outline tools.

View all the (RED) apps in the campaign press release, and learn more about the fight to end AIDS by visiting the Global Fund website.
