The game that has been downloaded by billions of smartphones and tablets is going to make the jump to the silver screen. Angry Birds is coming to a theater near wherever people happen to be on July 2016, with Sony Entertainment producing it. Variety has reported that the cast has been finalized and it includes Jason Sudeikis as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Bill Hader as a pig, Maya Rudolph as Matilda, and Peter Dinklage as the Mighty Eagle, with a supporting cast including Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale, Kate McKinnon and YouTube stars Smosh among others. Producer John Cohen couldn’t be happier about the cast of the film.

“I’m extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they’re surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent — these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re thrilled to have them all on board.”

Angry Birds is one of those games that has been practically everywhere for years and now that the wagons are starting to circle regarding the movie, there is a virtual certainty that this movie will attract a large audience as soon as 2016 flies in.
