By now you’ve heard the reports of Edgar Wright abandoning the big-screen adaptation of Ant-Man, a project he’d been working on for nearly 7 years. So in order to meet its July 17, 2015 release date, Marvel is in panic mode trying to find a replacement to tackle the helming duties. The studio has begun to look internally and is seeking the duties of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn to jump onboard once he wraps all Guardians promotional commitments.

Only problem is Gunn isn’t interested in the position, even tweeting in response to the reports stating, “Waking up to a bee swarm of complete bullsh*t rumors on all side. Happy Thursday.” The report posted by ComicBookMovie has been pulled without any word as to why. Sounds like Marvel might have dropped the hammer, again.

In any case, don’t take the rumors to heart. Then again, Marvel could be initiating some damage control thanks impart to the leaked reports. So who knows at this point.
