After Sony announced the slim PS3 and new markdown price, Microsoft was bound to counter attack. The latest Wal-Mart catalogue shows the Xbox 360 Elite going for $299 on August 30. If they can improve their 54.2% failure rate, then Microsoft will clearly 1-up Sony.
