HTC One
Price: $100 – $200 (w/two year contract)
In a current mobile world dominated by plastic handsets, HTC takes a different approach and decked its year-round flagship device with a stunning aluminum build. In doing so, the One promotes a premium presence absent on most other phones besides the iPhone 5. Running inside is a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and the new 4MP UltraPixel camera, which creates more vibrant, colorful shots. On top is a 4.7-inch HD display showing off its news/social media app Blinkfeed. We find one of its best features to be Beats-powered two-speaker system housed behind the front grille–producing unparalleled surround sound not found on any smartphone.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
Price: $680 (w/two year contract)
Just when we thought we seen big phablets with the Galaxy Note 3 and the HTC One Max, Sony decides to one up everyone with its whopping 6.4-inch Full HD display offering. Clearly crossing that fine line of falling under the tablet category, the Z Ultra still offers the capabilities of a phone and rocks a 3,000mAh battery to ensure all day usage. The latest Snapdragon 800 processor keeps interaction flowing promptly. So if you’re longing for great views and seek to leave the slate at home, then this might be your best bet.
