Easily one of the best multiplayer romps available on the PS4, TowerFall Ascension looks and plays like a lost early ‘90s classic. The archery matches look deceptively simple, but the characters’ finite supply of arrows and the ability to snatch an opponent’s bolts in mid-air add levels of strategy and unpredictability to the deathmatches. Further complicating matters are power-ups like explosive arrows that are just as much a danger to the shooter as to the target and wrap-around stages to ensure that you’re never quite sure where your opponent will be in the next few seconds. Even if the game unfortunately lacks an online mode, TowerFall Ascension is a must-own for PS4 gamers.
