An unfinished build of Gears of War 3 leaked to torrent sites over the weekend
Luckily for Epic, the leak version popping up on the Internet is not the final build. Well, that’s according to Microsoft.
Here’s what the company told told IGN:
“We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation,”
“This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches.”
The only version that has been leaked (thus far) is the developer copy that works only on modified debug Xbox 360s. The build is rumored to include the full single-player and much of the multiplayer content. That said, if you’re heavily invested in the game’s storyline, you may want to switch posts about now, since information most gaming forums and sites will be flooded with new details. Death to spoilers!
The retail version drops September 20. So until then, good luck avoiding the spoilers. And in other news, Microsoft is pissed and investigating the matter.
