Pretty funny how just a week ago Toyota failed to mention its Aqua Air concept would be making an appearance at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Well, the company just decided to make it official, unveiling the prototype roadster next week at the international auto expo. The Aqua Air looks to adopt the same hybrid powertrain as the Aqua G Sports, while carrying an Atkinson-cycle 1.5-liter gas engine and an electric motor matted with a CVT gearbox. Performance specs have the vehicle pushing 100 hp with a fuel consumption of 2.82 liters. Plans are for Toyota to show off another Aqua concept labeled the “Cross,” but nothing’s been confirmed as of yet.
