Behold! At last, the Motorola Droid 2 is officially launched today. Verizon’s new Android beauty will grace the latest Android 2.2 operating system and stands on par with the Google Nexus One in terms of software updates. Of course, the vanilla Droid 2 isn’t the only one to be revealed. This limited edition version will only be available online from September onwards, where it will ship with exclusive Star Wars content and external hardware that is specially designed to look like RT-D2. You can snag the Droid 2 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contrac. If you want to enhance that with an optional 3G Mobile HotSpot service, then it will cost another $20 monthly, letting you share your Internet connection with another five compatible Wi-Fi devices.
