After a year in beta, Berlin-based Pipe Dreams Technologies has taken file sharing social with their Pipe app for Facebook. Going live today, the program aims to make file transferring easy and possible for the first time on the world’s largest social network.
With a backdrop that screams of Super Mario Bro. nostalgia, FB subscribers will now be able to share pictures, music, etc. by simply dropping and dragging files up to 1GB into their end of the “Pipe.” The receiver will be able to obtain the files in real time if they have the app or not. While only available on the desktop version of Facebook, plans are to go mobile in the future.
