Think we’ve all be in that scenario where we’re about to run out last minute to somewhere, only to discover it just closed. Well, that won’t happen next time. Google’s created a solution to save you several trips (and time) by introducing a feature on Google Maps that tell you whether you’re about to make a destination before it closes.
When navigating close to a desired location, users will be prompted as to whether it is still open or about to close. This will work whether you’re about to reach a place or just leaving the house. The new feature was recently spotted in an updated change log for the Android Google Maps app.
“Receive a warning when you are about to navigate to a place that is closed at time of arrival,” the Google Maps’ change log says. The warning sign is said to read as follows: “Your destination may be closed by the time you arrive.”
Feel free to update your Google Maps right now to take advantage of the feature.
