Those who actually saw the Judge Dredd remake starring Karl Urban witnessed what was the most realistic interpretation of the popular comic book on the big screen. It was a really awesome movie that embodied the true essence of the property. Though its lackluster performance at the box office has hurt any chances of a sequel being greenlit by Lionsgate over the past few years.
But if you ask Urban himself, he’s been very confident that Dredd 2 will be made one day. Appearing at Chicago Comic-Con 2014, the actor actually revealed that a follow-up would serve as a prequel, not a sequel:
“Why yes, there is a definite possibility. But, it is more likely that we will do the origins story with Dredd trekking through the cursed earth to find the first Chief Judge Fargo.”
That makes for an interesting development regarding the project. Would you still see it? By that, we mean actually pay at the box office and not stream it at home?
