As much as the critics love HTC’s flagship handset, the One M8, the jury is out on the phone’s camera—it’s bad—really bad. The patented UltraPixel technology has not resonated with smartphone users, forcing the company to rethink its mobile hardware strategy. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s looking to release an upgraded version of the phone dubbed the One M8 Eye, which will flaunt a 13MP Duo Camera on the rear.
Reports last month suggested the new device was in the works with a possible unveiling to occur sometime this month, as HTC plans its media event on October 8th. Plans are also to unveil the new Nexus tablet as well at the event. No official release date or specs have been dilvuged at the moment, though @evleaks revealed the One M8 Eye would not support NFC and will be offered in Silver/Gray.
