Following in the footsteps of social rival, Twitter, the world’s largest site has rolled out its verification stamp. Facebook verified pages and profiles have now been integrated, which in turn will “help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook,” according to the company via statement. All verified accounts will feature a blue checkmark on the timeline, as well as search results and anywhere else on the platform.
Plans are to extend the feature for other public figures with huge followings: including government officials, journalists, and popular brands just to name a few. Let the celebrity stalking commence.
