Sadly, the only way to really enjoy the Android Wear experience is by pairing it with a Google-operated smartphone. No iPhone support. That could very well change in the coming weeks as the company could prepare to launch an app that allows Apple fanboys to pair their iPhone with the Android smartwatch. A French publication claims Google is “preparing to launch,” though no exact details or release date was mentioned.

There are apparently several hacks out in the Android community right now that allows users to pair their iPhone with an Android Wear device, pushing notifications through to the touchscreen. When asked for a comment by Engadget, the team at Mountain View stated Google had nothing to share “at this time.” Seems like the perfect counterattack with the Apple Watch rumored to launch next week on March 9th.

Would an iPhone update inspire you to own an Android Wear device? Are you even interested in the Apple Watch? Decisions, decisions, decisions!
