They say the more things change…the more they say the same. Apple has fell victim to the proverb for the past several years with its smartphones, as battery life remains one of its bigger issues. As the reviews start pouring in for the iPhone 6, the critics are reporting on vitality issues with the handset, which doesn’t seem like breaking news to the avid mobile user.

The Wall Street Journal writer Geoffrey Folwer claims his 4.7-inch iPhone 6 had died before his iPhone 5S when boosting brightness up to 100% and streaming video. Engadget produced some video playback tests that showed their model only lasted 10 hours and 19 minutes. Keep in mind the iPhone 5S lasts just as long when running the same test. Lastly, CNET is also reporting the same results during its early battery tests.

Granted other publications are indicating slightly improved performances with the iPhone 6, it’s really hard to tell what the issues are when dealing with first batch models. Either way, if you’re one of the first few to pick up the phone, just make sure to pick up a portable charger and play it safe.
