After long searches for a director, Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead) has signed on to “develop and direct” Wonder Woman. The search initially began in the summer with MacLaren becoming the top choice in August after meeting with Warner Brothers executives. Although she was the prime option because of her lengthy directorial resume, there was skepticism because few female directors have taken on big budget, super-hero projects. Michelle MacLaren directing the Wonder Woman film would make her a first in cinematic hero history.
MacLaren will work with “unnamed” writers for a script and of course, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Gadot will debut as the character in the upcoming Superman Vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice. Charles Roven, Zack and Deborah Snyder are to produce the movie due out in 2017.
