While The Last Guardian has remained dormant for the past several years, the game’s artists have decided to leave the stagnant waters and create their own indie company named Friend & Foe. While just a five-person team, the studio has already revealed their new game dubbed Vane. It’s a Shadow Of Colossus-esque open-world fantasy adventure game that looks as beautiful as can be given the background of the team.
Nothing is really known about the game at this time, but the Friend & Foe website states Vane is, “an open-world adventure game based on mystery and exploration” with the unique perspective of “a child with an odd ability stuck in a strange land.” With the early images leaning towards a desolate wasteland environment, Friend & Foe does confirm that there will be a strange civilization present in this wasteland. Along with the civilization you will encounter, we can expect puzzle solving and some yet to be detailed mechanics.
With this game being revealed by past The Last Guardian artists, does this mean that The Last Guardian is truly a far ways away?
Does this mean The Last Guardian is cancelled or delayed indefinitely? We won’t know until Sony officially announces something, but for now, we are really excited for Vane.
