Ubisoft has officially unveiled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. In development at Ubisoft’s Paris studio, the newest installment of the tactical shooter franchise is slated for holiday release in 2010. The Ghost Recon series is one of our favorite Clancy drops as it was the first set of titles to give gamers a real taste of what “modern warfare” truly is on a next-gen consoles. Ubisoft promises Future Soldier will include “cutting-edge technology, prototype high-tech weaponry, and state-of-the-art single-player and multiplayer modes.” The game studio also pledges a “fresh” gameplay experience, hoping to reignite excitement for longtime fans and introduce newcomers to the franchise.
For curious fans, developer Kimi Matsuzak already addressed console details, confirming PS3, 360, Wii and handheld versions will hit retail simultaneously, and that the PC version will come at a later date. Also gamers will have a chance to play Future Soldier via a multiplayer beta this summer. The beta invite will be packaged with Splinter Cell Conviction when it drops in April, so snag away to get your hands on the beta.
