After years of speculation, Sylvester Stallone looks to be reprising his two most famous roles heading into the New Year. Those being Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Unfortunately for all Rambo fans, this film will be the last, hence the name, Last Blood. Empireonline.com reports the direction of the film has gone under some debate. Last Blood was originally supposed to be a cartel kidnap thriller set south of the border. Oddly after that, sci-fi was being considered and finally it went back to its original form. There was even talks of a Rambo television show. And then there was nothing, but in 2010, Stallone said, “The character came full circle [in the fourth film]; he went home. For Rambo to go on another adventure might be misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary.”
In 2011, Sean Hood (writer of Conan The Barbarian) turned his screenplay, The Last Stand, into Rambo’s Unforgiven. The story of a small town thriller resembling First Blood. We can only see what Rambo has in store when he returns to screen. This is perfect timing because Stallone will also be returning as Rocky Balboa in Creed, the upcoming spin-off based on Apollo Creed’s son training to become a boxer. Busy Year for Stallone as you can see.
