A new browser-based game titled The Search For Tobin Frost just launched to help attract some attention and get people pumped for the new action-thriller Safe House. The online game puts you in the role of a CIA agent on the hunt for Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington). In order to find Frost, you’ll have to interview multiple witnesses in a number of cities around the world, piecing together clues and information in order to find your target. Believe us when we say these clues will have you checking Google and Wikipedia like crazy.
As simple-minded as it sounds, you’re not just traveling around and engaging in conversation with witnesses all day. You’re on the clock…the whole time. The entire adventure is a race against time to stop Frost from escaping, and the clock starts ticking as soon as you begin. You’re given 96 hours to find him before the trail goes cold. Plenty of hours, right? Questioning suspects and traveling the globe requires time, and each action executed reflects on the game’s clock, meaning you have to think before you act.
However, there are ways to take little shortcuts and save valuable time such as bribing targets to gain a little extra intel or contacting headquarters for vital info. You only have a set number of these lifelines at your disposal, so choose when to use them carefully. If the clock reaches zero, the game ends and Tobin escapes. When you fail (and you will fail), simply restart and try again. Oh, but don’t think remembering the clues from your previous game will help, as all leads and locations are randomized. Translation: The second play through won’t be the same.
So if you think you have what it takes to find Tobin Frost, head on over to www.searchfortobinfrost.com to join the hunt, and don’t forget to check out Safe House in theaters February 10.
