During today’s Nintendo Digital Event, the company confirmed two more characters for Super Smash Bros., but also revealed that the release date for the 3DS version has been pushed back.

The festivities opened with the reveal of the “Mii Fighter” as a playable character in the next Smash game. The Mii Fighter can come in three different styles: as a fist-fighting Brawler, in Samus-like armor as a Gunner, and as a Swordfighter. Furthermore, each of these classes have a customizable move set in which players can choose four special moves out of 12 possible attacks.

The event closed on a similar note, with the revelation that Palutena, the goddess from the Kid Icarus series, will be a playable character. Palutena featured in both Kid Icarus games and cameo’d as part of Pit’s Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but this marks the first time that she’ll be playable.

Unfortunately, not all the Super Smash Bros. news out of E3 was good. Nintendo gave a new release date for the 3DS version of the game, which is now slated to hit stores on October 3, 2014. Though it is nice to finally have a concrete date, this does represent a bump back from the game’s original release date of Summer 2014. The Wii U version is still slated for Winter 2014.
