Star Wars website

Those who have been following the changes that Disney is bringing to the Star Wars universe will be interested to hear that a brand new Starwars.com site has been launched this week. While the look is new, familiar aspects will return: including tabs for movies, games, and television. Lucasfilm also claims “innovative features, and more in-depth original content than ever before”. To any franchise fanatic, that should be nothing short of exciting.

The site has a very simple look, and is heavy on imagery. Quite frankly, the photos and stills on every page are fairly mind-blowing: Disney has really worked hard to give us a powerfully visual home base for all of our Star Wars needs. For those with an existing Starwars.com account, you will need to make a brand new Disney ID in order to get exclusive access, special features, etc, and your old account will be deleted.

That might be a bit of a bummer, but Disney claims the new ID account system will be more rewarding than ever before. The whole thing is promising—further proof that Disney plans to do right by the galaxy far, far away. Here’s hoping they continue to do just that.
