The Mercedes-Benz E-Class series is amongst the elite class of refined automobiles, and their latest model, the 2011MY E-Class Cabriolet, speaks enough clout for the German manufacturer. Introduced at the 2010 North American International Auto Show, the soft-top convertible is the first of the Mercedes’ family to feature the all-new AIRCAP draught-stop, which is an air-deflection system that interior wind turbulence. That’s just the cork on the champagne…
“Four seasons, for people.” Cabriolet’s “motto” ensures succor cruising for those jumping into the four-passenger speedster, with the AIRCAP technology being the catalyst for comfort, as drivers pump out 268-hp on a V6-engine. No installation is necessary and best of all, it doesn’t block rear seat accessing. The roof-top opens and shuts within the 20-second time frame, with it’s noise-proof soft top producing one of the most inaudible interiors ever created for a convertible. The vehicle also features an AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, which exhales warmth from the front seat head restraints, right across the neck and shoulders of every passenger onboard.
The Cabriolet wouldn’t be a member of the E-Class family unless it came with features such as a Pre-Safe accident protection, Attention Assist drowsiness detection and Distronic Plus proximity control systems. Also, as a standard for the Cabriolet, drivers will take full advantage of the EASY-ENTRY feature—a manually operated entry and exit aid for rear passengers. Talk about luxury amenities.
Mercedes aficionados will be thrilled to hear the Cabriolet will be available in two different powertrain options: 268-hp E350 and 382-hp E550. Though no MSRP is present at the moment, the Cabriolet should emerge from Mercedes’ sales floor to you’re garage this spring.
