Though Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS has already launched in Japan, Nintendo has been strangely tight-lipped about the release date for the Wii U version of the game. However, what appears to be a pre-order card for the game from superstore chain Fred Meyer has leaked to the internet, and it give Smash Bros. Wii U’s release date as November 21st.
The picture was taken by Twitter user BlueDriveBuster, who also tweeted that Nintendo had provided the pre-order cards, but told the chain not to display them yet. Another Twitter user, BigBrainBoomer, shortly thereafter posted another photo showing a stack of similar cards.
Despite the extreme hype for the game, Nintendo has been extremely vague about the actual release date, leading some to fear that the game was going to be delayed. If these leaks are authentic, however, then it appears that not only is the game essentially finished, but that Nintendo is planning to officially announce the release date in the near future.
