
It’s gone under numerous aliases: the BlackBerry 9900 prototype 9980, Knight, R47, and Porsche Proceeding. Judging by the aluminum chassis finish and “PROCEEDING” bold imprint at the top, we’ll run with its Porsche moniker for now. While a release date, pricing, and other definitive specs remain disclosed for now, what is known according to the sources of the video below is that the phone is being billed as the luxury edition BlackBerry device, which will run BlackBerry 7 OS, support NFC (near field communication) and come wi-fi- and 3g-enabled.
Is this RIM’s secret weapon against the iPhone 5 and Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich-based smartphones? If so, CrackBerry users…pray! Nevertheless, the video does show off some of the Porsche Proceeding’s unique features. Take a look. And yes, we know, it’s in Japanese.
