Zack Snyder pulled the sheets off the new Batmobile and The Dark Knight’s suit about a week back, which were both met with moderate fanfare. But while we’ve caught a glimpse of what Ben Affleck will be donning on the set of Batman vs. Superman, others in the industry have seen the suit in its entirety. Enter comic book fanatic and direct Kevin Smith. The Comic Book Men creator managed to get a sneak peak of the prototype months back, though he kept his lid shut until the costume was unveiled in full.
Now that the public’s been put onto it, Smith has decided to detail the outfit and compared it to the original during a recent interview on the Hollywood Babble-On podcast:
“They put it on a fake rooftop, and they lit it up. But it was in color, and you could see every piece of detail…
So what the suit looks like, and I was always kind of keeping it quiet until they revealed it, but they’ve revealed it. And you can kind of see, and anybody that…you’ve seen some people take the picture and color it online.
If you want to see what this suit looks like, you just go to Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, go to the third book, Hunt the Dark Knight…it’s the exact outfit he’s wearing. That’s why I hugged that guy all those months ago.”
Sound exciting? Guess if you’re fan of Frank Miller’s work. We won’t pass judgement until seeing the suit in full. Batman vs. Superman hits theaters May 6, 2016.
