Ever since director Zack Snyder tweeted a photo of Jason Momoa in character as Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the role and how the character will be incorporated into the film. According to Badass Digest, the role is a “glorified cameo” and Aquaman is set to appear onscreen two times; once while a survey is conducted on metahumans by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and again at the end when Batman sets out to recruit Aquaman for the Justice League. That being said, the film is a prologue to Justice League, so we won’t necessarily get the backstory or details of Aquaman’s character until a solo-Aquaman film in 2018.
There has been a lot of confusion over the poster’s tagline, “unite the seven,” because seven roles have yet to be confirmed for the film’s characters. However, the film’s costume designer Michael Wilkinson shared with TooFab that, “Zack Snyder has a brilliant vision for making this character powerful and relevant. I enjoyed designing a costume that reflects this vision and honors the character’s rich legacy.” Dawn of Justice is set to premier March 25th, 2016.
