There has been a lot of buzz about Jared Leto recently, most notably about his possible role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The actor was interested in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, but since that role went to Benedict Cumberbatch, Leto has approached Warner Bros about working together on a film. Leto would be taking on the role of none other than Batman’s most notorious villain: The Joker.
Ryan Gosling was originally meant to take the role, but the actor did not want to sign on because the agreement was for multiple movies. Jesse Eisenberg will be reprising his role as Lex Luther, while Tom Hardy, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie are potentially joining the Squad as well. Apparently, the original draft (written by Justin Marks) did not include The Joker; however, Ayer plans to do some serious revisions to the draft that will include the villain.
