Since last month, more and more iOS 8 details continue to surface on the Internet, as Apple plans on unveiling its entire software update heading into annual WWDC event. Now the latest report out of 9to5 indicates the company will introduce a new split-screen multitasking experience that will be made available on the iPad.
Similar to Microsoft’s experience on its Surface tablets, the feature allows users to run two applications side by side on the same screen—something fans have been clamoring for since the original iPad debuted in 2010.
The 2014 WWDC keynote is set to take place at 1:00 p.m. EDT on June 2nd, where Apple is expected to showcase iOS8, along with a huge OS X update and several other new products. There’s also hearsay of new board member Dr. Dre joining the festivities after Apple’s $4-billion acquisition of Beats By Dre. Guess we’ll see what transpires in the coming weeks.
