And you thought the Porsche 918 was the hottest supercar being put into production. Jaguar steals some thunder from the silver mid-engined sports car by putting two variants of its C-X75 stunner into production. The Jaguar X-X75 delivers the high-speed performance of a supercar and combines it with the hybrid-feel of a fuel economy vehicle. The luxury automaker will build a conventional plug-in hybrid powered by a Williams F1-developed four-cylinder turbocharged engine, lithium-ion batteries, and a pair of electric motors.
A second version packs more power, bundled with a pair of gas-fired microturbines and lithium-ion batteries—pulling 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 200 mph. Auto Express reports these microturbines will come into fruition as Jaguar’s parent company, Tata, has opened a new factory in Coventry to build the rotary engines for the Jaguar C-X75.
Lets pray Jaguar can put together two amazing production models that live up to its promise. The Jaguar C-X75 is rumored to be priced over a million dollars and has no official launch date.
