After months of rumors swirling about who would write the Captain Marvel movie, Marvel has confirmed Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer(s) Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve. LeFauve recently co-wrote the upcoming Disney-Pixar film Inside Out. Since Disney has acquired the comic book studio, they will keep the writing close to home and nicely lead with female writers. Captain Marvel, offering some diversity in the MCU because this will be the first female super-hero with her own film. A lot of pressure for LeFauve and Perlman.
The film has no cast or director, according to Deadline. There are no specific plans for the film as of yet however, Carol Danvers will be the focus. Danvers was introduced in 1968 as a member of the U.S Air Force. Later in 1977, after fusing with an alien, Kree she gained super-human powers. She was the first incarnation of Miss Marvel. Captain is anticipated from the studio because she holds such a heavy title. Marvel’s first female lead film will come to theaters November 2, 2018.
