In recent memory Ubisoft has been rather hit and miss with its latest flagship series Assassin’s Creed with some games hitting home and becoming huge successes while other tended to kind of just slip under the radar. However the latest incarnation Assassin’s Creed: Unity is by far the most hated of the franchise, the reasoning behind this was poor execution, glitches but most annoyingly the addition of the ‘Companion App’ which had a lot of players up in arms about it.
As such it is rather obvious why Ubisoft has decided that in the newest game they are working on Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate the companion app will not be featured and in fact totally removed. With the devs claiming that they wanted to focus more on the core experience of the game, which is commendable especially since they also removed multiplayer options from this new game. So hopefully this will make up for the sins of the past for Ubisoft and maybe this will teach them to not add in superfluous functions to a game.
